A Soho Sunday Pub Themed Stroll
Discover Soho through its pubs on this Sunday lunchtime stroll. Soho’s diversity is reflected in its pubs so a pub-themed walk is the best way to explore the area. Discover what unsavoury things went on in the 19th Century in the upstairs room of one Soho pub, find out the story behind a teetotaller having a pub named after him, hear why one publican was giving away free drinks back in the 18th Century not to mention some rather unusual drinks from the 19thCentury and some more recent history too. We will also be looking out for dead pubs, i.e. pubs that are no more including a former pub where members of the Rolling Stones auditioned!
As is usual with most of Joanna’s walks there will be a halfway 30 minute stop in a suitably historic pub and the walk will finish at the Queen’s Head, Denman Street for Sunday lunch if required.
This walk starts and finishes close to Piccadilly Circus tube and lasts approximately 2 hours with one pub stop but a second pub stop can be included if required.
Contact me for availability and cost. All walks can be adapted to start and finish at a venue of choice in the immediate area.
